Get Back in the Game

For Veterans and Others in Recovery from Injury, Illness or Trauma

A recovery shot in golf helps players overcome obstacles and get back in the game—just like our free Buddy Program at Spanish Hills Club in Camarillo. Designed for individuals recovering from injury, illness, or trauma, this program provides 24 free rounds of golf, giving participants a chance to heal, regain confidence, and reconnect with others in a supportive, stress-free environment. Best of all, their buddy plays free, too, reinforcing the power of camaraderie and encouragement on the course. Whether taking that first swing or rediscovering the love of the game, this program isn’t just about golf—it’s about recovery, resilience, and finding joy in every round. Scroll down to learn more!

Golf is Good Therapy

Medical and practical evidence abounds that golf is good therapy. From the invigorating benefits of fresh air to the camaraderie of fellow golfers to the gentle benefits of low-impact exercise, golf delivers an opportunity for happier healing. Importantly, golf improves the brain’s neuroplasticity, its ability to compensate for injury and disease, and to relearn brain functions that have been lost or compromised. Our Co-Founder knows this from firsthand experience.

What is Adaptive Golf?

Adaptive golf is golf that is literally adapted to your special needs and abilities, allowing you to play at your own pace and comfort level with modified or specialized adaptive equipment when needed.

Spanish Hills – Our Partner in Healing Through Golf

We are deeply grateful to the Spanish Hills Club for hosting Recovery Shot’s Buddy Program at their award-winning, world-class course.  Their support began when they welcomed Co-Founder Dennis Leoni to play as part of his stroke recovery. After witnessing his progress, they extended that same opportunity to others in need. Thank you, Spanish Hills, for making real-life recovery shots possible!
